The Spencer Plan in the news

The man in this story is being charged with sexual assault, among other offenses, and I will not express an opinion on his innocence or guilt.

I am interested in the implications of having spanking associated with violence and perversion in the mainstream media.

In several referenced articles, the reader comments are disturbing in their opinions on spanking and those of us who take part in it.

I am curious…

How do you feel about spanking in mainstream media and news? Are we spankos treated fairly and impartially by the public? And, how ‘out’ are you about your spanking play?

Here’s the recent news story:

A Virginia restaurant owner faces sexual assault and abduction charges involving women he allegedly promised college scholarships, room and board and weekly allowances in exchange for obedience, including bare-bottomed spankings for violating his rules, The Virginian Pilot reports.

***, a wealthy businessman in Virginia Beach, gave each of the women $200 a week and spent lavishly on them, including buying one a car, as part of his so-called Spencer Scholarship Plan. In exchange, they had to follow his “obedience” rules and submit to spanking if they violated any of the rules, such as failing to call him or drinking too much alcohol.

WTKR-TV reports that the criminal complaints says spankings involved belts or horse-riding crops. Six women who filed criminal complaints had all been employees of *** restaurant and were also “scholarship” members, but his attorney said there have been several others.

The Associated Press says the “Spencer Plan” is a form of “carefully regulated corporal punishment” between husband and wife that started in the 1930s. Couples agreed to a list of things the wife needed to change, such as not spending money frivolously. If the rules were broken, the husband punished her by spanking.

  1. Fwiw, I’m new to being spanked and never had heard anything about it in the news.

And, I don’t tell anyone that I’m spanked.

Obviously, Daddy(my husband) knows, but he’s the one that spanks me:)!

  2. Well I love to hear about spanking in the news, when it is reported correctly. Sometimes I think the reporters should go over Ms. Kane’s knee when they lie or mislead about spanking.
Most of the time spanking stories in the news are about a kid getting paddled WAY TOO hard by some gym coach or teacher who forgot that it’s just a kid.I was spanked in school as were several of my friends and I still think it should be used by the way, but schools make the rules and that is the way it should be.
As to adult spanking in the news as long as it is honest lets hear about it. Maybe someday us spankers can come out of the woodshed like our gay brothers and sisters.

  3. Hello Dana,
I’m thinking that you can’t be too careful with regard to the general public. Sometimes they are very quick to condemn those who take a slightly different road. Having said that…..
With regard to myself, I’m a married and frequently spanked by the wife, male. I have 3 sisters-in-law and I’m “out” with all three of them. They have even seen me scolded, mouth soaped, slapped in the face, and finally take to the basement for some “you won’t sit for a week MISTER” strapping on the bare hiney. I’ve seen one of them use a strap on her husband’s bare behind as well. They are all a bit kinky, so I think it’s OK to be “out” with them.
My wife is also not so careful to close the windows when she spanks me upstairs in the bedroom. She closes the drapes but sometimes the sash is left open. The acoustics are such that if the neighbors are out on their patio I think they can hear that easily recognizable sound of the hairbrush on a bare behind. I’m guessing that they have some idea as well. But they have openly used mild spanking as a means of punishment for their children so I don’t think they would make any complaints.
