    2. The general approach to these things is:

      First try to guess the answer from the clue. The fact that the first word had three letters was enough of a hint to me. I didn’t even have to buy a vowel.

      Then you look at the frequency of the letters. The numbers that occur most are more likely the most common letters of the alphabet – A, E, S, T and so on (there’s probably a web site that tells you this). So I tested A and S and confirmed that the first word made sense. Since I often do things “ass backwards” I looked at those same two letters in the second word and they were where I expected them. That didn’t leave a lot of guesswork for the rest of the letters.

    3. oh okay, I get it! Since I don’t do things ass backwards I probably wouldn’t have gotten that one. Now if it had been “smartass” I bet it would have rolled right off the tip of my brain, hehe

      I actually researched for about an hour but gave up too soon. Just wasn’t clever enough this time around, well I am only allowed an hour & half computer goof off time each day.

  2. You could have obfuscated it a little. I guessed this one just from the description and counting the number of letters in each word.
