Your Opinioin: POV-style videos

Readers,


In making different types of videos, I’ve found that along with doing a lot of spanking, I also enjoy recording the POV-style videos. (For those unfamiliar, POV stands for ‘point of view’ and usually feature one or more persons speaking or gesturing directly to the camera (you).)
A few men have remarked that – while they greatly enjoy receiving a spanking – they’ve really no interest in seeing another man over the female spanker’s lap. Others have commented that there’s something much more personal about the fantasy if one can put oneself, literally, in the position of the person being scolded.


In my opinion,POV-type video is excellent for scolding, threats, role-play and behavior modification-themed scenes, but I am curious what you think of the genre..

  1. As for myself, I think the concept of POV videos has great potential, but the market is seriously lacking in quality work of this kind. At least within the spanking genre, that is. It’s not a new idea, recalling a marvelous little video from the infamous Jennifer Brooks, but I’ve always been disappointed that there weren’t more videos (or photographs) of this nature. Which left me with the assumption that I was among the minority, in preferring videos of the POV style.

    On the rare occasion that I have found them, it’s always the videos produced by genuine enthusiasts that I find most enjoyable, rather than those produced by the the clueless porn industry. I must confess, I’ve been waiting a long time for someone to produce some POV videos featuring a dominant wife, boss or female doctor, to name a few, having a “long talk” with the camera (me). I’m naturally anxious to see yours, of course, and will share my thoughts after doing so. :-)

    So, I give a thumbs up to the POV videos (POV photos, too) and hope you’ll continue producing them. In all fairness, I know it can’t be easy to produce a good or convincing one, since it must require some skills as an actress, taking on the role of the strict, no-nonsense female. Lilith Sternin (from Cheers) where are you? But you certainly appear to do a marvelous job, Dana.

      Should the requisites of acting skill and strict no-nonsense demeanor be of paramount importance to you when considering a potential female disciplinarian , it would be my suggestion to you that perhaps the best possible POV could very well be … presenting your own vulnerable bared bottom to Ms. Kane whilst bent over, perched on tip-toes, with head turned to your right as she draws her cane back to deliver the first stroke of a truly “serious” caning !
      Precisely that was my great fortune scarcely more than 48 hours ago, and I am very much of the opinion that there may well be no other comparable POV available to any of us.
      Perhaps you might care to see that for yourself David. The experience comes with my highest recommendation :-) !!!!!!

  2. I look at a lot of spanko vids of all types (FF, MF, FM and also a dash of MM too) and personally I find a lot of lacking in dialogue. By definition a good POV video has to be creative with the words – and I must say you seem to be a natural.

  4. I would be one of those people who only watches F/M videos to see the female. I rarely buy any however because only about 1 in 30 have enough of what I’m looking for to make me forget that there’s a guy in the movie. Unfortunately POV videos always fall in to one of two catagories. Either the producer calls it a POV but then has a guy in the video getting spanked (wierd camera angles spliced with shots of some guys ass reddening doesn’t constitute a POV video) or else it’s a real POV but they stop short of the actual spanking and instead just lecture. I like the lecture POV’s but they’re unsatisfying because there’s no spanking.
    It hasn’t been until recently that I’ve seen any decent spanking POV’s start to emerge and it still seems like some people have trouble grasping the concept. When done well they are amazing!
    I agree with the above comment that you seem much better skilled for something like this then most. Some people get a camera on them and start blathering on reciting tired old lines that have been used so many times in spanking movies that they no longer have any meaning. An actor has to actually make believe what they’re doing is real and then the dialog will come naturally.
    What I really love about POV is that there aren’t really any boundaries since half of the experience is in the viewers imagination. I don’t have to be a 6’4 220 pound construction worker. I can be smaller then you if you lower the camera :) You can do all those auntie, mommy, teacher scenarios with a lot more realism and a lot less hassle.
    I think you should go for it and try and make the best POV’s around (which wouldn’t be hard). You’d be a pioneer in the genre since hardly anyone is doing them and even less have the imagination to improve on the ones they are making.
    I think it’s the future of adult entertainment. With the recent anouncment from Google on their new augmented reality glasses coming out I would think that virtual reality glasses are right around the corner. Once the porn industry gets into that you can bet we’ve all but seen the last of the 2 dimensional clips we’re buying now. Why buy a movie when you can strap on a visor and have the experience yourself?
    It would be great to see someone really take on the POV genre and actually work at making them as realistic as possible.
    I would definitely buy them.

    1. POV is a great and very personal way of playing with your customers. I either love or hate them depending on how realistic the scolding/lecturing is and how believable in general I find it. There’s something amazing about the person on film staring directly at you.
      I don’t think I would be all that interested in husband/wife type POV’s. These types are movies are such fantasy and for me require ageplay. Otherwise it just seems like taking your kids to Disney World and buying them ice cream and then going home. Such a wasted opportunity.
      I want a POV to portray my deepest fantasies. The stuff I look back on and say “what if?” rather then literal things I can do now no problem.

    2. If you’re talking about POV videos that include spanking (ie; the camera actually goes across your lap an there’s no actor) then yes please! I bought one once before that I stumbled across on a huge video site. It was really interesting. It wasn’t done by spanko’s. It was kind of a femdom movie where a woman dominates a man with diapers and spanking and there were some elements I didn’t like (for instance she spanked him with his wallet) but the whole time I was watching I just kept thinking how great it would be if someone made a really good spanking POV with a mother/young son theme.
      A kind of soccer mom spanking to a naughty boy. I would be very interested in it.

    Yes bough one of those from jenniffer Brookes when she was on the scene and liked it very much as we were well aquainted vis e mails and stories i wrote for her magazine. The tape she sent me was even better!

  7. POV is preferable to me as well, but it’s harder to block, light, shoot, and edit than “objective” camera placement narrative. Along with others, I’d rather see the lovely Ms. Kane administering punishment than the bottom of the fortunate fellow she spanks in a film. But during my own delightful experience across her lap, a felt her strong left hand, but couldn’t look into her lovely eyes, given the position I was in. So spankee’s POV is usually seeing a floor or a wall. Not much visual excitement there. The way to go may be a way of placing the camera as an observer recording what both spankee and Ms. Kane might see. This is the “over the shoulder” set-up, low angle with the spankee’s back or even face at the bottom of the frame, and Ms. Kane filling it so we see her strike and strike again, and see and hear her admonish her disciplinee. That can be intercut with reverse angle shots over Ms. Kane’s shoulder. It’s pretty traditional film-making. Not unified Point of View, but the viewer gets a character with whom to identify… and wish he was there.

  9. You’re the perfect person to pull off spanking pov movies. I would love to have you as a fantasy mom or babysitter. I wonder what it would be like in 3d? ;)

  10. I feel like if they aren’t so scripted and kind of fake sounding then they would be more appealing. That is just my opinion though, if we’re strictly speaking about what we’re wanting to see from you personally than I’d just as soon have you stick with “unscripted” spanking sessions. The videos like the first ones you began posting are all lovely. That’s not to say there’s anything wrong with role playing, again it’s a preference thing but I’d much rather watch you in a some type of organic discipline scene than not. I think for some people (maybe just myself) if I’m truly going to enjoy or be effected by a POV scolding or something I’m more likely to get a response if it’s just the real you, saying real things, about real indiscretions ( if that makes sense!)

  11. I enjoy POV’s in FM spanking videos mostly for the scolding/lecturing segment.

    When the spanking begins, I enjoy viewing it from varying angles throughout the video.

    Having you stare back at me through the screen, while giving a stern lecture and elaborating on what is to come is an exciting prospect, though.

    1. It’s kind of a tricky thing because when you talk about POV you’re talking about an actual virtual experience which some people (including myself) are very much looking forward too seeing.
      The problem is that some fans have other priorities and request things that will inevitibly ruin the POV for the purists.
      It’s the same thing with people who are particularily into FF spanking and avoid any movies with men in them (and there are many of us). If someone requests some good FF spanking clips for the FF spanking fans and you asked for everyones opinion on the matter you can be sure that some peope would say “ya I love FF spanking too, you should do one where the boss instructs the woman to spank his secretary while he watches”.
      Well that’s all great but it’s the opnion of someone who isn’t really in tune with the original idea and although they may like FF spanking in some way this addition to the concept just ruined the movie for the people who requested it in the first place.
      The idea here is a POV video where the viewer can actually be the character as realistically as possible. If you cut to a shot of a mans ass then this whole discussion just became meaningless.

      I have a hunch that this is also why so many spanking websites have bottomed out in the last few years. In many cases they start out trying to cater to a certain genre (like FF) and then after a while start diluting their content trying to be the Walmart of spanking websites but nobody wants to pay for one particular website when they only get a couple of clips per month that are tailored to their needs. It’s like trying to open up a Walmart 3 blocks from another Walmart.
      Clare FOnda’s websites are a good example of content that has remained fairly true to the original concept (and she’s expanding even more right now while others are falling on hard times).

  12. Seeing another man spanked is repulsive, probably
    a jealousy thing. Woman spanking another woman,
    a guy can place himself in the spanked woman’s
    place without any problem.

    More than one woman, 2 or even several actively
    spanking or restraining a man being spanked is a
    turn on. Other women looking on does very little,
    and if they look simpathetic, even less.

  13. I watch F/M mainly to see the woman’s reactions.
    Also, there must be wood implements and severity.
    Cutesy F/M is not interesting.

  14. I am not really a fan of pov videos. With regular spanking videos I can usually suspend reality just long enough to be aroused. But pov’s are just to fake for me.
