Readers,
After some consideration as to heft, I’ve decided to publish ‘Mostly True Stories’ for eReader formats. This first volume contains a few slightly altered yet very real-life short stories from my exploits as a gleeful spanker of adult boys and girls.
The first, ‘Mostly True Stories : Adventures in Discipline’ is now available. Containing four previously unpublished short stories:
I Wasn’t Expecting That
All in the Name of Science
What Were You Thinking?
A Wife’s Frustration
Available both through Smashwords HERE and Amazon/Kindle HERE.
Around 9 thousand words, and priced at $2.99, this small edition of short stories is my first foray into storytelling. If it’s well-received, I’ll expand the concept to either a lengthier version or several volumes.
As always, I’m interested in your feedback. Leave comments below or email me at danakanespanks@gmail.com.

I can’t wait for my copy to arrive. :)
I just downloaded your book! I can’t wait to read it!
Xoxo,

Hmmm – where these typed on a new typewriter??
Congrats my friend!
Everyone,
I’d like some honest feedback on the stories, and whether there’s any real interest in non-sexual discipline stories…please email me your constructive criticisms!
Dana
PS. Jeff -Did you hear the clacking from all the way over there?
SOS!
I opted for Smashwords but I am computer challenged at this time. I don’t know how to access your book from here. I’ve never used ebook formatting.
Alexis,
You’ll have to check the smashwords FAQ for users or email their support folks, as I’ve not downloaded anything from the site yet.
I liked that you could take an image and produce what looks like a real book jacket. It looked good on my Kindle reader too.
I think the first story of the four is my favorite. A lot of men would like to be spanked to the point of tears (coming from real emotion as much as pain) but it sounds like that doesn’t happen often in the real world. Or often enough. So, in the story, there was enough of a connection, coupled with the spanker’s expertise, that it happened, and I liked that.
IMO, one of your strong points (I haven’t experienced it) seems to be that you extend your spankings beyond what the person thinks they want or can take. The man in the story was spanked into Ouch Territory. The memories of a spanking like that would be very exciting if not so pleasurable at the time. (Maybe wanting disciplinary spankings is as much about being given the memory to relive of being in that state of ouch as the experience of the spanking as it happens?)
Anyway, people seem to trust your judgement on going past their comfort zone, so you probably aren’t completely evil :)
I was ok with the ending to the first story. It’s sort of ambiguous: the spanker should feel proud of the gift that was provided. The recipient was thankful but never wanted to do it again. I read it and wonder why the temporary vulnerability would cause the person to arrive at a long term decision like that. Maybe the man would eventually change his mind and have a followup, if awhile later…
Anyway, it was fun. Of course, the reader wants to get inside the spanker’s head more :) So, future writings could reveal more about the character of the spanker, which could correspond to real life, or not.
Oh yeah, it it murder technically to do a TOC?
Thanks for sharing this with us.
BT,
I didn’t really see the need for a TOC with only four chapters, but subsequent (larger) releases will have a Table of Contents as well as hyperlinks to other published works.
And no, not *totally* evil.
Thanks for your feedback, and I’m happy that you enjoyed the stories.

It was a hint to the cleverness of your writing that on the Smashwords site, the paragraph describing you says “more information than you ever thought necessary” can be found at MsDanaKane.com. All the stories were interesting to me, though they are quite different. “I Wasn’t Expecting That” was thought-provoking and left me dazed. I was still for several moments, but my mind raced through the emotions the man may have experienced. “All in the Name of Science” was almost magnetic, forcing me to keep reading. I loved “What Were You Thinking?” On page 12, the synonym for irritation (which you managed to hide) was delightful. The phrase describing pre-tuck-in activity on page 14 was also poignantly descriptive. And the ending was spot-on! This story and “A Wife’s Frustration” belie the playfulness seen in your product testing videos. You are a no-nonsense top who can be formidable. I like that these stories are non-sexual. Sexuality certainly has its place, but I think that having to divide one’s focus, reference to which is made in the last story, would result in diminished intensity.
I loved to read the stories! I like (almost) real stories written from the spankers point of view to learn more of what is going on in the mind of the spanker.
I look foreward to the next book!
