Current Fundraising Total : $640
That’s six hundred and forty swats to Angel thus far, and I’m hoping to see a number that makes us BOTH nervous by the time we’re done at the end of January.
Nearly halfway through our first Give Til it Hurts charity raffle, and I am genuinely touched (and somewhat blown away) by the generosity of spirit so many have already shown.
I want each and every person who’s participated in any way to understand that you’ve had a direct impact on the well-being of your fellow inhabitants of this planet, and that’s something about which you should be very proud.
At raffle’s end, I’ll be posting a list of donor’s pseudonyms, sharers, and organizations in receipt of donations.
In an interesting turn of events :
I received an email last evening, from someone who’s looking out for the interest of not only the critters, but also that of Angel.
This person who I’ll call Angel’s Guardian Angel said that there was some concern about the total number of swats that Angel would have to endure if the fundraiser went up indefinitely, and proposed an alternate.
AGA offered to bring the raffle total up to $1000 (a $360 contribution) if I’d agree to cap the raffle there and save Angel any further increase in swats.
Naturally I agreed. Not only to acknowledge AGA’s generosity, but also as a nod to the fact that there’s only so much that any one person can absorb. (Of course, Angel’s 1000 swats will not be severe at all – this is for charity, after all.)
My thanks to all involved. Since it’s important for Angel to be here when the drawing is held (and thus to make the video itself), I’ll be holding the prize drawing at the end of January – while she’s here with me in Las Vegas – which we’ll make a fun video of to share with you all here.
