No offense but I burst out laughing as soon as I read the scene description. When I was much younger I used to get into my share of scraps with boys. When I couldn’t physically overpower them with my fists, I would throw something at them. :)
Ahhh, this brings back some good childhood memories. I grew up with four sisters, and we got into some good fights with girls as well as with some boys. We had to learn to fight because someone always wanted to mess with one of us. Our fights were rock ’em, sock’em; we fought like boys. One kid’s father actually came to our house one day and complained to my parents that their son ( my parents didn’t have any boys) beat up his son. The father freaked when he found out it was a girl that beat up his son.
This one did. Finally after years of torment, I was “called out” when I was in 8th grade. We went home, changed clothes and went to a vacant field under an old oak tree. It was a major production. At least 50 kids were there to watch and they parted the circle so the bus driver, who stood afar off, could see it. It was a knockdown drag out that sent her to the hospital for an overnight stay. Not intentional, mind you. I have to say it wasn’t fun. I wasn’t feeling all that great, either. The bus driver later got into to trouble for not stopping it.
