Not TOTALLY unrelated to spanking, but close.

You know how it feels when you’re pretty sure that you haven’t done something right, but you can’t be totally certain until it’s too late?

Gluten Free (very nearly done properly) Banana Bread

The batter for this new banana bread recipe looked great; it smelled wonderful while baking; it even looked absolutely perfect when pulled from the oven.

And I didn’t drop this one, either. So I had high hopes.

Except that, while cooling, the center dropped. And dropped. And dropped some more. The obvious problem being that I attempted to do something very silly – bake a really thick, towering loaf of gluten free dessert bread. Alas, the constraints of wheat-free gastronomics..  Basically, next time I’ll have to make two or three ‘baby loaves’ of this stuff instead of one gigantic one. It was yummy, though..

Live, bake, and learn.

Also, this:

Don’t be silly. Of course they expect you to take them.

If you have the occasion to stay in a hotel sometime throughout the year – TAKE THE SOAP! Yes, take the damn soap. You (and the next person and the next and the next) pay for that little bar of soap every time you pay for a night in any room – all those little ‘amenities’ are in the price – and most of us don’t actually use the stuff. But why just leave it sitting there? Take it home, put it in a box, and when the box is full take it to your local shelter or mission. They’re always desperate for toiletries and it won’t cost you a dime.

Don’t want to go to the trouble of collecting and delivering them? Bring ’em to me…I’ll put them in my box.

Finally, and this is the semi-spanking-related part:

Does the stuff that’s totally unrelated to spanking dilute your interest in this blog? Do my gf recipes and pet photos and other off-topic posts add or detract from the rest? I know we’re all here for spanking and don’t want to drag you too far off-course if you’re not interested.

Let me know your thoughts? (In the comment box below please.)

  1. I love your posts whether they’re spanking related or not-ESPECIALLY ones featuring your beloved pets! This is actually one of the few sites which holds my interest spanking related or otherwise.

  2. I love your Posts on totally unrelated to spanking. The only thing that distracts me from your blog is Alexis being an annoying smart-ass. I know you won’t post this but I had to get that off my chest.

  3. I like occasionally reading about another subject in your blog. We’re all spankos, but none of us is ONLY a spanko. All of us spend most of our time outside the bedroom, hotel room, or dungeon. For example, we all eat. There may be others besides you who are interested in gluten-free baking. Also, it’s comforting to know that someone else prepares food that turns out less than perfect. Calling attention to the idea of saving hotel toiletries and taking them to shelters is a valuable prod for someone who never thought of it. Helping four-footers is a grand thing to do, at least in the opinion of this dog lover, and you think of clever ways of getting us involved. Yep, I’m pretty much in favor of it.

    1. Excellent point, Cautious. And thanks for the vote of furry-fundraiser confidence!

    1. LOL No you never bore me I enjoy your Blog it is very entertaining and has verity, Plus Your product testing clips are the Best!

  4. Nonspanking posts are fine. I enjoyed the bread one, shame the center collapsed.

And you are spot on with the toiletries post, donating them to a shelter is a great idea.

  5. I like the non-spanking related posts as well. People can see that you’re more than just a perfectly-tuned spanking instrument :) With failed banana bread, dental issues and crazy cats.

The posts that fall in the “middle” are fun too (spanking and travel, for instance). I think one of the funniest things I read on your blog was the “Do I look like I fish!” comment relating to transportation of your canes. (You *should* pick up a fly rod at least once in your life!)

    1. Thanks BT, I’ll try to post something remotely spanking-related every now and then. Ha~

  6. Diluted interest? Not at all, to the contrary, it is very nice to see personality building outside the spanking topics, and thank you for that.
As for the bread, how did it turnout? If breads had parts like humans, then I suppose that they would show a “bottom” too. Well, the bread in the picture seems to be not only gluten-free, but glute-free as well, being that it is so flat and devoid of curves.
    See, not entirely off-topic, not a bit…

    1. Thanks for the vote, Florin! (Yes, the bread was a disappointment, but the experience still fun.)

  7. I enjoy all the real-life tidbits! Yeah, we’re all into spanking and that’s of huge importance, but some off-topic stuff is welcome.

(glad the bread tasted good, anyway!)

    1. Erica,

I can’t help but wonder sometimes whether I ramble…then I wonder whether I care whether I’m rambling..then…eh, you get the idea.

  8. Dear Ms. Kane,

Please keep posting “non-spanking content.” This is a part of life for all of us, and the “non-spanking content” is about who you and we are in the totalities of our lives.

Thank you for trusting us with this part of your life.

    Respectfully submitted,

    Ethan the incorrigible

    1. Ethan,

It’s my pleasure to have the chance to share a bit of the non-spanking stuff – and am tickled that you’re all okay with my droning. Stay tuned!
